A New Generation of Blogging Trends

Hi Reader,

At the end of my son’s hockey season, I found myself surrounded by shouts of “skibidi toilet!” and I instantly felt like an old lady grumbling about “kids these days”.

My sons are at an age where Gen Alpha slang has infiltrated our house. Gone are the days where my Millennial phrases were the sole influence of their vocabulary (“whatever!” has definitely slipped out on occasion when my son has had an attitude and it was like looking in a mirror).

But every time my son says “Bet” all I can hear is “Word”. And when he says “No Cap”, that’s just millennial for “For Real”.

Every generation has their own trends and slang but it’s just the same old stuff repurposed with a new spin.

The same can be said for blog posts. 5-10 years ago you may have been able to gain traction with a blog post utilizing a few targeted keywords. Now, (especially with the rise of AI) blog posts should follow the “experience, expertise, authority, and trustworthiness” (E-E-A-T) rule of Google. Simply put, with so much content to consume, demonstrating your unique know-how and brand voice increases your chances of ranking well and standing out to your potential clients.

Benefits of Writing Blogs Posts in 2024

  1. Increased Online Visibility
Regularly updated blogs with relevant keywords can help improve your website’s ranking on search engines like Google, making it easier for potential clients to find your practice. As an added bonus tip: Blogging about local events, news, or specific services can boost your visibility in local search results, attracting clients from your area.
  2. Establishing Authority and Trust
By sharing your knowledge and expertise on specific topics, you position yourself as a thought leader in your field, which builds credibility and trust with your audience. Providing valuable information through your blogs helps educate your audience, demonstrating your commitment to their well-being and enhancing your professional reputation.
  3. Client Engagement and Relationship Building
Engaging content, such as answering common questions or addressing concerns, fosters a sense of community and encourages current and future clients to interact with your practice. Bonus tip: Adding links to related blog posts will create a higher chance of visitors staying and engaging with your website, which in turn will also increase your search ranking.
  4. Marketing and Business Growth
High-quality blog posts can attract new visitors to your website, some of whom may convert into clients. Including calls-to-action (CTAs) in your blogs can guide readers toward booking appointments or contacting your practice.
  5. Repurposing Content for Social Media and Newsletters
Blogs can also serve as valuable content for your email newsletters or social media posts. Taking your existing blog content and repurposing it into different formats will save you time while keeping your audience informed and engaged with your practice’s latest updates and insights.
  6. Enhanced Client Retention
A well-maintained blog serves as a resource library for your clients, providing them with valuable information they can refer to between appointments. By addressing common issues and providing advice through your blogs, you offer additional support to your clients, reinforcing their loyalty to your practice.

Hi Reader, There are lots of things I pride myself on: my ability to design and code, swapping faces in Photoshop, and Rick Rolling my 9-year-old. But one of the things that I’m most proud of, that I don’t get to talk much about, is my onboarding and project management systems. It’s one of those things that isn’t very exciting and is only really noticed when it doesn’t work. But the time I’ve put into fine tuning different systems is probably the one of the most important investments I’ve...

Hi Reader, I’ve been living a lie for 30+ years. I’ve had this limiting belief that getting in shape, exercising, and being strong was out of reach for me. I know everyone always says how good exercise is for your physical and mental health, but it seemed like such a daunting task and I had every excuse in the book to stop me from getting started. That’s when I discovered ✨Walking✨. I started by tracking how many steps I was averaging every week (which was an embarrassing amount) and started...

Hi Reader, The other day I did something I thought I’d never be caught doing. A few years ago, my husband came up with the “genius” idea to attach a hand mixer whisk to his drill in order to hold a dish sponge and wash the dishes. It eventually morphed into using this modified hand mixer to mix protein powder and hydration drinks. I always thought it was excessive and said I’d never need to use it. Well, I ate my words. The other day I had cream cheese filling that needed to be mixed and I...
