I Never Thought I'd be Caught Doing This 🙈

Published about 1 month ago • 3 min read

Hi Reader,

The other day I did something I thought I’d never be caught doing.

A few years ago, my husband came up with the “genius” idea to attach a hand mixer whisk to his drill in order to hold a dish sponge and wash the dishes. It eventually morphed into using this modified hand mixer to mix protein powder and hydration drinks.

I always thought it was excessive and said I’d never need to use it. Well, I ate my words. The other day I had cream cheese filling that needed to be mixed and I reached for that Frankensteined drill-mixer instead of plugging in my actual hand mixer.

Don’t tell my husband, but it worked like a charm!

It got me thinking, what are some ways people could use an existing tool (their website) in creative ways that helps make their everyday life more efficient?

4 Creative Ways to Use Your Website

1. Link in Bio
“Check out my link in bio!” I’ve heard that phrase thousands of times on Instagram. Usually people sign up for services like Link Tree or Link In Bio where you can create a custom webpage with important links like your newest blog post, affiliate links, or links to your website. But instead of creating a page on one of these services, you can create a webpage on your own website that includes anything you want, in a style that matches your brand. You can have a blog post or Instagram feed, your contact information, and any links you want to promote. The sky’s the limit!

2. Business Card QR Code
Handing me a business card is a sure way to get your business card lost in my car. I try my best to remember to input the contact information into my phone, but out of sight, out of mind! To make it easier for the people I hand my business card to, I included a QR code that links to a dedicated landing page on my website that has my contact information, vCard download link, Instagram feed, and latest blog posts. This drives more traffic to my website and people get to see a more in depth look at what my business is all about. To generate your own QR code, try using Bitly or Canva.

3. Private, Password-Protected Pages
If you have information that you only want to share to a specific group of people, like only your current clients, a password-protected webpage is a great way to reward them with exclusive content. This could be a page that includes exclusive resources or referrals, or a private Youtube playlist of meditation and stretching exercises. By having a dedicated page on your website to refer to, this will also save you the hassle of looking up multiple links to different videos or resources to send to your clients. If this is something you’d like to add to your website, but don’t know where to start, reply to this email and we can discuss adding it to your current setup.

4. Intake Forms
If you have intake forms, adding a link to them on your website could be another way to make sure your clients have a copy and fill them out prior to their first appointment. Emailed forms could get lost or accidentally sent to their spam folder. This is an easy way to ensure your clients are taken care of and have all the information they need before they walk in the door.

Hi Reader, I’ve been living a lie for 30+ years. I’ve had this limiting belief that getting in shape, exercising, and being strong was out of reach for me. I know everyone always says how good exercise is for your physical and mental health, but it seemed like such a daunting task and I had every excuse in the book to stop me from getting started. That’s when I discovered ✨Walking✨. I started by tracking how many steps I was averaging every week (which was an embarrassing amount) and started...

Hi Reader, I just got back from a quick trip to New York that coincided with the last day of Lunar New Year. I can’t begin to describe the pure child-like excitement I felt when I heard those familiar drums from the Lion Dances blessing one business to another in Chinatown. Picture of a Lion Dance taken from the internet, since I keep missing their dances in person! I took off running to catch their performance, only to be completely disappointed to find that I had JUST missed their dance! It...
